Introducing / Urban Decay

After the release of the Naked 2 palette last week, I thought to write a small review about the products I have tried from this brand.

Let's start with one of the most popular...

Eyeshadow Primer Potion
This is a best seller and sought after product. The packaging has been recently re-designed and it comes in a squeeze tube now - really easy to dose the amount of product required.
This has, fast, become a staple in my make up bag (as I'm guessing many of you); if I do an eyeshadow look, I can't NOT use it because the difference it makes to the longevity of my make up is amazing.
You use it as a base and as you blend it you can feel it fix it into place and it won't budge. I can honestly say I have experience NO CREASE at all since using it.
I have the original formula which dries to a neutral colour but it comes in other 3 versions which have sparkles and can also be used as eyeshadow on their own: Eden, Sin and Greed.

Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tint
This is a cream blush which is quite sheer at first but easily buidable. I'm well impressed with the formula: it melts into the skin, leaving a silky feeling. It contains Vitamin A, C and E which also nourish the skin. Personally, I like to use it as a lip stain too and I love the packaging; it's super sleek and super compact with a mirror, perfect for your handbag. Plus, the snake on the top appeals to the rock chick inside me! ;)
The shade I'm using now is Crush which you can say it's my 'safe' shade, ideal to make me look alive in the morning but I'm lusting after Score and Fetish too.

Dew Me - Moisturizing Makeup Setting Spray
I have never used a setting spray before but I'm definitely converted now. First, you apply your make up and then mist face 2-4 times with this spray; it's totally weightless and feeling-wise you don't even notice any difference. The Dew Me version is specifically dedicated to combination skin in fact is oil and paraben free; also, you'll be happy to hear it's moisturising (I have only tried Lipcote - as a lipstick fixer - and it was so drying!!!).
Apparently, the Encapsulated Cooling Technology - behind it - works against humidity and heat and has the benefit of lowering the surface temperature of your skin.
I don't use it everyday but mainly when I go out and it will, definitely, come in handy for my wedding in Italy, you know... hot weather, hot emotions... I can use all the possible help!!! :)
Finally, I find it useful with powders,  to avoid the cakey look.
There's also the All Nighter (long lasting) and De-Slick (for oily skin) available on the market.

So, what do you think? What others Urban Decay products have you tried?

  17. I love the idea of Dew Me - I hate my make-up disapearing by lunchtime! And the idea of setting my make up with hairspray as some girls do always terrifies me! Sounds like a good solution :)
