Empties / March 2014

Dirty Works Coconut Caress Body Scrub: this scrub was pretty perfect. First of all, love the tube for practicality in the shower. Perfect consistency too, easy to spread. Lovely coconut scent and fantastic price! Definitely a worthy budget alternative.
Repurchase: yes!

Steamcream: I really really want to love the Steamcream… but I have grown to only like it. I like the fresh, light consistency, velvety feel and it aborbs quickly but I don’t think it is an exceptionally good moisturizer, to be honest (especially on rough, very dry skin). I’m also not a fan of the lavender scent but it’s not too strong so I’ve learnt to live with it. Their tins are always so pretty tho ;)
Repurchase: maybe.

Liz Earle Foot Repair Moisturiser: It has a typical minty scent like other foot creams, it’s fast absorbing and refreshing. Don't get me wrong: it's a lovely cream but pretty ordinary and far too expensive for what it is.
Repurchase: no.

Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash: I really enjoyed using this face wash. It feels nourishing but still deeply cleansing and fresh. It has some exfoliating beads but it’s not too harsh and could be used on a daily basis, I reckon. The bubblegum scent is nice too and a change from the usual herbal smell of products nowadays.
Repurchase: yeah.

Murad Renewing Eye Cream: not too impressed with this sample. I found it quite oily and took a bit too long to sink in; consequently, my concealer didn’t apply uniformily. The sample is far too small to notice any difference obviously, but I can safely say that I don't feel the need to further investigate/invest in this item.
Repurchase: nope.

Xmas Ideas / Liz Earle Christmas Star with Strengthening Nail Colour

The Liz Earle Christmas Star with Strengthening Nail Colour is the perfect stocking filler for a beauty enthusiast and nail obsessed… also, a pure steal at only £7.50!
You can't help but fall for the cute star - that doubles as a tree ornament but also the nail polish inside is of great quality.
There are 2 shades available: Moment In Time ( red) and Ebb Tide (taupe colour)….
but if nails are not your thing, there are also stars filled with lipsticks or the best seller Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanse to choose from.

Moment In Time* is THE perfect true red! Full stop. Surely it's ideal to create striking Christmas-themed nail arts but also an all-year-round favourite.
It has a fortifying formula, enrich with botanicals and a glossy finish; I usually applies 2 coats of nail colour but this is opaque enough with only 1 coat. It's also chip resistant and applies like a dream.

Xmas nails sorted ;)

Liz Earle pampering treats don't stop at stocking fillers; there are many irresistible gift sets, suitable for every budget - with skincare, bodycare, haircare or make up goodies.
For example, the Liz Earle Brush Collection is ideal if you wanna spoilt your mum and the Jan Constantine Stocking Collection will definitely impress the demanding sister that has all.

Have you checked a Liz Earle counter near you yet?

Review / Liz Earle Healthy Glow Cream Blush in 04 Rose

Most of Liz Earle skincare products are already part of my daily routine; they always manage to keep my skin in tiptop condition, even in the harsh winter months.
I'm glad to see that I can also trust their formulations when it comes to my make-up bag.
Now look at this beauty...
Liz Earle Healthy Glow Cream Blush in 04 Rose* is simply perfection!

The blush is encased in a signature blue glossy & glittery mini compact that also contains a mirror; I actually like the packaging a lot! There's something about it, I find it extremely satisfying to hold and the perfect size for your stippling brush.

The shade is just the right mix of pink and coral to give a natural rosy flush to the cheeks.
I'm a fan of the formula too:  it's very creamy and blends in synergy with the skin; it also has the property of delivering a dewy finish but feels velvety to the touch and it lasts all day on me.

The picture is pulling a bit on the pink side, but it's actually more muted and 'flesh-looking' in real life.
I would definitely say that it's a must-have shade to have; it'd work with any look and I also discovered that - because of the warm tones - it marries beautifully with bronzers too.
Added bonus: it can be dabbed on the lips to complete the look!

Have you tried any of the Liz Earle make up range, yet?

Empties / October 2013

Skincare:
Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution: not much to say about this one - everyone loves it, everyone uses it. Although - as I mentioned in my holiday haul post - I'm branching out and started trying different brands, this is still my favourite in the micellar water world.
Repurchase: definitely!

Simple Kind to Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes: I use wipes before the gym to remove most of my face make-up; these were allright but a bit on the dry side and I felt I had to scrub more than when using other ones.
Repurchase: no.

Wei White Lotus Moisture Rich Eye Blend: I received this eye cream in the January Birchbox; It's quite thick in consistency, so I mainly used it at night for this reason. Nevertheless I enjoyed using it and didn't feel heavy on the skin (just takes a while to absorb).
Repurchase: maybe.

Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm: ohhhh my precious - I love everything about this lip balm - the grittiness, the smell, the performance. The matte finish is also an unusual and welcome quality. You can read more in my original review here.
Repurchase: hell yeah!

Bodycare:
Liz Earle Orange Flower Hand Wash: can go wrong with a bit of posh hand wash ;) Lovely fresh scent, lathers nicely and not drying - I actually really liked this wee sample.
Repurchase: yes.

Sprout Cream: Sprout's now become S.W. Basics but same lovely products. This is a very thick cream, nearly pure shea butter. I used it on rough areas as knees, elbows and heels and lasted ages. Love the sweet smell, too.
Repurchase: yes.

L'Occitane Date Bouquet Hand Cream: this was from the shea butter limited edition from last year. L'Occitane hand creams are probably my favourite hand creams ever, the date scent was lovely too. I'm currently using the Passionate Jasmine version and it is just as gorgeous - You can check this post for the Limited Edition 2013 scents :)
Repurchase: always!

Nivea Firming Body Oil: pretty inexpensive body oil, for after shower use that I highly recommend! Easy to dispense, not greasy and beautiful scent.
Repurchase: yes.

All in all a very positive month! Have you tried any of these products yet?

Just In / Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Grapefruit & Patchouli Limited Edition

Tada!
I finally managed to get my hands on a tube of the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Grapefruit & Patchouli Limited Edition.
I'm a big fan of the Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser and I'm running low on my current bottle - well, that is a guess since I don't see a way to tell -  so I couldn't resist to get the limited edition.
The bottle is really pretty and I L O V E grapefruit... but I was actually pretty disappointed with the scent :(
I find it pretty bland and too similar to the regular formula and I can't really smell any grapefruit at all. I guess there's an hint of muskiness from the patchouli but again very faint.
Looking on the bright side, I will still use it because this is one of my favourite cleansers and it came with 2 cloths that are always useful... but if you're straggling to find it, don't waste any more time - You don't need this!

Have you tried it? What do you think?

Liz Earle Advent Calendar / 24

Day 24 - Liz Earle Superskin Moisturiser
... and finally a rich moisturizer for very dry or mature skin.
It's not really targeted for me but this is a really generous sample and the pot is so cute.
I will try it out as a night cream and see if I can make it work for me, anyway.
So, that's the end of the calendar - booo - but on the bright side tomorrow is  Christmas - Yay :)
In general, I'd give this calendar a 8.5/10 - a great range of products but I'd have liked to see some make up items too.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Fab! Probably my favourite product from the calendar, so far.
Absolutely a luxury item, containing pumice and avocado oil. It'll be refreshing - thanks to the peppermint - and smelling lovely, too.
