New In / Kiko Luxurious Collection

I feel I’m starting to sound like a broken record when talking about Kiko Milano – but they can do no wrong, it appears… every collection is more beautiful than the one before! The latest collection – Luxurious – is another winner!
The golden tone packaging perfectly encapsulates the Luxurious theme and consists of a bronzer, highlighters, eyeshadows, kajals, mascara and a face brush.

The Kiko Milano Precious Illuminating Bronzer* feels velvety and blends uniformly on the cheeks; it has a multi colour heart made of precious stones to smooth and give luminosity to the complexion: amber preserves skin tone, pearls have hydrating properties, tourmaline exudes energy, ruby, amethyst, nephrite and coral create a smoothing and brightening effect.
The 4 shades create a perfect tanned colour, just a tad darker than my normal skintone - that gives a natural sunkissed look to cheekbones and temples.

The case - as well as the product itself inside - has the multifaceted characteristic of a gem and looks gorgeous in the sun light. It's a real treat to use it everyday and I love it!
Have you seen this one yet? Intrigued?

Bobbi Brown Face & Body Bronzing Duo

The Bobbi Brown Face & Body Bronzing Duo is a limited edition, part of the Nude Beach Collection for Summer 2013.
As soon as I saw pictures online I was immediately drawn to it; I liked the shades of brown and the lack of orangeness. In fact the side on the left is a pinkish brown and the side on the right is more of a reddish brown.
Personally, I find that these nuances tend to resemble more of a natural tan. I also have another bronzer which is pretty brick/red looking - Daniel Sandler Watercolour Creme Bronzer in Fiji - and complement my skintone real nicely.
I twirl my brush on both sides but you can of course pick and choose; the lighter shade is matte and the darker has a slight glow to it.
By the way, I didn't realised how HUGE it was until I saw it at the counter! I actually really like it, it's still pretty compact ad slimline.
I still had a gift card from Christmas so, technically, I didn't pay for it but I'm glad I got it and I'm getting a lot of use out of it.
heavily swatched
The lovely lady in House of Fraser also gave me a sample of the SPF 50 Protective Face Base, the new primer. I've only used it once but first impressions are good: feels really smoothing and lightweight on the skin. I'm pleased it has such an high spf, especially with summer approaching, and a little goes a long way so I bet that wee pot will last me a few months. :)
Have you bought anything from Bobbi Brown recently?

Review / Dior DiorSkin Nude Tan Healthy Glow Enhancing Powder

So... few weeks ago I decided I needed a bronzer.
I just have a couple of old ones and I don't use them very often, but maybe my post-Christmas chubby face prompted the urge to start sculpting my cheeks.
At the same time, I didn't feel to jump straight into a full on bronzer so I ordered Dior DiorSkin Nude Tan Healthy Glow Enhancing Powder.
You can imagine my surprise when I find this huge blue box in the post. That's right, the powder comes with a mini kabuki too (I thought you had to buy it separately) - Score! ;)
The packaging is simply beautiful and the quality and attention to details you get for the price... well, I think it's a bargain!
It's  described as a 'beautifying powder' so technically not a bronzer but it's still dark enough that I can use it to contour... with an added glow finish!
There are 4 shades available and I got the 02 Sunlight which combines both colour and light to create a stunning powder that works with primary and secondary skin tones and the apricot hue delivers a natural and healthy radiance.
I'm also looking forward to try it in the summer as all over the face powder - Bet it will look incredible over tanned skin, too.
I got mine from Escentual.com for 29quid - it retails for £36 on the high street - and I also received these generous samples... making me a happy customer indeed.
(Btw, that Acqua di Parma Fico di Amalfi is amazingly good!!!)
What's your favourite Dior make up item? Any recommendation?

Bronzed Look Attempt - no2

For this look, I used Stila Custom Color Blush in Self-adjusting Bronze*.
Part of the Summer 2012 Collection, this blush/bronzer is the latest addition to the self-adjusting line; it's a shade which fits every skintone and leaves you with a beautiful sun kisses glow.

I'm, actually, a fan of this self-adjusting products but I had only used lipsticks before... actually, a cheek product makes even more sense!

This bronzer reacts to your individual pH and creates a personalised shade... and taking advantage of this technology, you can be sure it's the right colour for you and will never look like you used too much or that it's not complementing your complexion.

Swatched - you can see an hint of shimmer but in actual fact on the skin, it translates with a luminous glow... I'm loving it!
I'm, usually, not a massive bronzer wearer but when the result is so beautiful, I can't help it but incorporate it in my make up routine.

complete look
Btw, I'm loving that lipstick too... no wonder I chose to wear it for my wedding. ;)

Have you tried any of this self-adjusting blushes yet??!

Cover FX Bronzed FX

I have, already, reviewed this product but in another shade here.
Once I tried this bronzer, I really liked the consistency - it's extra smooth and extremely soft, actually... that  you need to be careful to not pick up too much product, when you dip the brush in it.
As I mentioned before, I'm not really a bronzer-kinda-of-girl... but fell in love with the shade Golden Peach.

To be honest, I'm not sure why this is classified as a bronzer as it's clearly a blush, in my opinion.
It's the perfect shade of peach with a hint of pink and it has got a gold sheen to it.
I've been applying it on my cheeks, bringing it up towards my temples - and because of the gold - it doubles as an highlighter, too.

Isn't it gorgeous??!
As I mentioned before, I think the packaging is pure ugly... I just wished it came in a nice pretty compact (especially for £25!!!).

Have you tried Cover Fx before? I got mine from House of Fraser.

Cover FX - Spring/Summer Look

Cover FX make up for Spring 2012 is all about a fresh, transparent look; with warmer temperature is better to let the skin breath and keeping the layering to a minimum.
It's still possible to achieve a flawless skin, using the right products!

Recently, I have started using the Bronzed FX Mineral Bronzing Powder and I must admit I'm a converted to bronzers now; I never use one (regularly anyway)... I'm too scare to end up with an unnatural, flat  colour.
This product gives the most beautiful glow to the skin, without looking fake or orange.
It adapts perfectly to your skin colour and texture and it ends up becoming transparent but still giving a sun kissed accent to face and body (I used it on my collarbone too!).

I'm in love with this colour - it looks like has got some gold shimmer in it but it's so fine that it blends so well on the cheeks that are undetectable.

My only criticism would be for the packaging - I'd like it to be more luxurious but the powder itself is superb!!
Also, all Cover FX products are gluten and paraben free and are available in Harvey Nichols and House of Fraser in Uk.
