FOTD & OOTD / Wedding Guest

Hello lovelies!
I attended an amazing wedding at the weekend - some dear friends got married in a beautiful Scottish location, the bride was stunning and we had a fantastic time.
Since I got all dolled up, I thought I would take full advantage of the occasion... and make a post out of it! :P

Haul / January Sales - Clothes Edition

Few things I picked up in the last couple of weeks…

Oasis Lace Gothic Dress in red £85 £40
Originally I wanted this dress in black but when I tried them, the red definitely suited me better; I like the high neck and long sleeves and of course, I can't resist anything lace! I think it will look great with black opaque tights and platform heels.

French Connection Winter Sloanie Slub Jumper in windsor green £69 £34
I don't shop in French Connection very often: I think it's hugely overpriced and, yes, you see stuff that I like   from time to time but nothing unique. I actually still had a gift card from last Christmas to spend so I picked up this pretty jumper. I fell in love with the colour and I like that it's slightly longer on the back.

Warehouse Borg Collar Biker Coat £100 £55
So chuffed with this coat! I have been eyeing it for months and since I tried it on in November, I nearly bought it full price. It's simply me to a T! ;)
It's the perfect mix of smart and edgy; I like the sheep's skin lapel, low skirted waist and the shiny effect of the fabric.

Monsoon Fun Sparkle Beanie
Well, technically not a sale purchase as I paid full price (£10); also, this is technically a child's hat but I have such a small head that all normal hats end up falling on my eyes.
I like it! :)

Missoni Yellow Patterned Scarf £99 £30
I heart Missoni!
I spotted few different scarves in TkMaxx before Christmas but I simply couldn't make up my mind on the colour; I finally decided on this design and it was even further reduced… score! ;)
It's soooooo soft.

Anything you like? :)

Haul / January Sales

Hobbs Caravaggio Dress £199 £59
ohhhhhh I'm so pleased about this purchase!
I've been eyeing this dress since I saw it in August and finally, at under 60quid, I can afford it. :)
Beautiful print, soft at the touch and flattering waist and sleeves. Smart enough for a friend's wedding later in the year... it will both suit a spring or autumn event.
Oasis Crochet Ruffle Snood £16 £7
I actually thought this was a scarf but turned out to be a snood, not an issue for me.
I spotted it in the sale pile and loved the colour and lace knitting pattern - I couldn't leave it behind for 7quid.
Ted Baker Nail That Performance £12 £6
I already mentioned how I wanted this nail set when I go the lip pens tin.
I have only tried 2 colours so far but I'm impressed: colour is pretty opaque with only 1 coat and the glitter is very fine, leaving a smooth surface. They also dry very fast. I suppose the real test is to see how long they last without chipping.
Ted Baker Rowon Rocking Horse Earrings £29 £14.50
I couldn't resist these sweet Ted Baker's studs at half price. Love the rose gold colour, unfortunately the matching ring was too small.
Ted Baker Jewellery Travel Box £46 £31
uh! Apparently Ted Baker theme going on... ;)
I received an House of Fraser gift voucher at Christmas so I picked up this small jewellery box. I chose this colour combo 'cause it's smart and it'd look beautiful on any dressing table. It comes with a magnetised compartment inside.
Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet-Creme £20 £10
I bought this in Debenhams - I think they are discontinuing Caudalie so everything is on offer; the packaging has now changed but I don't mind this bottle.
I have plenty of day creams that I need to finish first, but this is one of my favourite and was on my list of items to repurchase. You can read my review here.

Finally not sales related but I also got some yarns and needles to getting started with my NY resolution: knitting. I discovered John Lewis has got a wide section... I couldn't wait and I've already started - I'm enjoying it very much... any other knitter out there??!

Delivery / Asos

I placed a cheeky order on Asos.com few weeks ago... well, not that cheeky after all since everything was on sale.
Yeah, I kinda of trained myself to avoid the website, otherwise I would order something every bloody week - still, I let myself indulge during the sales... good compromise, right?! ;)

ASOS Lula Ballet Flats with Colour Block
I've been wanting a pair of pastel flats for few months but couldn't decide on the colour... so I went multicolour - yay - and I like the metallic inserts, too.
These were pretty affordable at normal price (£25) but I got them for 13quid which I'm very pleased with. I wear a 7Uk and the shoes are a bit on the large side but the 6 was too small... oh the joy of being an half size, NOT!!!
They didn't come in a box but they sent them in a dust bag, at least.
Oasis Pearl Flower Stretch Ring & Earrings
That's a lovely wee set for under a tenner! The earrings were £6 (down from £10) and the ring only £3 (down from £12).
The rose gold caught my eyes, at first... and then I thought that the pearl and the black enamel combo were kinda of Marc Jacobs-esque, too.
I just wish the earrings thingy on the back was central but they are small enough that the flower doesn't actually hang off the earlobe (am I making any sense here??!)
Nice detailing of the metal, tho and the ring is stretching so is very comfortable and no issue with the size there.
 Ted Baker Raspberry Ring
There's a whole series of jelly fruits from Ted Baker... I've also seen a yellow lemon and green apple; you can get the matching pendant, too but I actually got the ring to wear it with an Hobbs necklace that I already got (just realised that I never featured it on the blog so I'm gonna post a pic below).
I wanna bite it!!!
As always, every detail is perfect - there's an engraving with the brand and the size on the inside of the ring and the packaging per se is outstanding.
Hobbs necklace

Did you hit the Asos sale? :)

Delivery / Oasis

I saw Oasis was doing a 20% off dresses last weekend so I had a browse to see if I could find anything interesting... and surely enough, something caught my eyes. ;)

Nouveau Fantasy Dress

When I saw this dress, I instantly fell in love with it!
I like the pleating in the skirt and ADORE this art nouveau-esque print.
It, also, has a cut out detail in the back, cap sleeves and grey & gold belt - Just Gorgeous!
The colours makes it perfect, as well - the pastel blue and pink of the flowers with the cream of the background...  I would say it's very lady-like and ideal for a special occasion, like a fancy party or a wedding.
I ordered it online, but I popped in store first to check sizes and spotted this bracelet, too:
Multi Jingle Bracelet

Man, I can't start to explain how much I love it!!!
It has clusters of pale rose beads on a rose gold setting - This-is-everything-I-could-possibly-want-in-a-bracelet-and-even-more!
It's, easily, become my favourite bracelet and it will got perfectly with the dress, too... I just wish they're doing matching earrings :(

Do you shop in Oasis often?

First Haul of the Month!!! (and Year!!!)

Well, I'm pleased with myself - it's nearly the end of January and this is pretty much the only shopping I've done since last year.
I've bought few bits here and there online but I haven't been in town browsing before - managed to resist the sales and all! :)

I did spend money but wedding related buys: my shoes, jewellery, invitations, cake toppers... everything has been delivered in the last few weeks but I'll share these after the wedding. :)

In Boots, I got few essentials: Niveal Pure & Natural Cleansing Lotion and Revlon Grow Luscious by Fabulash mascara.
My morning routine never change. I try different products at night but in the morning I always wash my face with cold water and then cleanse with milk and toner. That's it. This is recommended especially if you suffer from rashes and eczema as water can worsen the condition. Anyway, I'm never too fussed with the cleansing milk, I usually just get the one which is on offer from the drugstore. The Nivea one wasn't on offer but still cheap enough; it caught my eyes because it's paraben free and contains bio argan oil & bio aloe vera. As far as I don't get any allergic reaction, I'm sure it's gonna be just fine.

I've been wanting to try the mascara for some time and all Revlon mascaras are all £5 so I picked one up. I haven't tried it yet and sorry but I can't show you the brush because I wanna keep it sealed. Have you tried this?

I used points to pay so everything is good! ;)

In Debenhams you get 500 points when you spend £30.
I wanted the Clinique Bottom Lash mascara which is 11 pounds and then worked my way up to the target... you know, it's like £5 off next time. ;)
This bottom lash mascara is such a great invention! I know you can do the same job with a normal one but it's sooo much easier. I can't believe I haven't bought this before! Also, on the packaging says that it washes away with warm water so I'm thinking the formula is more delicate and I won't have to rub and rub with remover.

next to a ordinary wand

Then I got Dead Sea Spa Magik Algimud Active Peel-Off Body Mask and Burt's Bees Lip Balm.
I've used the body mask before: it comes in a powder form and there're 3 servings in a box. You simply mix it with water and then put the paste on your skin; once tried it will peel off, leaving the skin super-soft. This is a great product and I'm trying to give my body a boost (in the eve of the wedding, of course)!

I have never tried anything from Burt's Bees (shameful, I know) and everybody loves the lip balm so I bought the original version.
Wow, what a surprise: I found it tingling on the lips which I wasn't expecting... having bought the classic. I thought it would have no flavour, maybe honey-like but instead it's very minty (where the tingling sensation also comes from, I 'm guessing). I'm not really complaining, it just not what I expected.
Are they all like that? I saw a honey version... is it also minty?

I had £20 worth of points to use so I only paid about 10 pounds.

First stop in House of Fraser was the Nars counter. I wanted to try the Sheer Glow foundation so the MUA did my make up; after trying 5 shades, I was matched with Deauville and Santa Fe. They are both a really good match on me and so similar that I couldn't decide so the girl, kindly, gave me samples to try at home.
On the skin, it is beautiful - definitely in my Top 3. At the moment, I'm leaning a wee bit towards Santa Fe because is the medium of the two and if I get slightly tanned, it would be better.
I did buy a Blusher in Sin! It has been on my wish list for ever and I don't have any cool tone, plum blush.
I love Nars packaging - so sleek and I understand that the rubbery material can get dirty easily but I do take good care of them.

I had £10 in capital bonds from work so I only had £10 left to pay.

Another foundation I've been meaning to try is the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation
My match is no 5 - I've only tried once (applied with brush) but I'm not blown away, to be honest. I felt It oxidised real fast but I'll give it another go... what's the best way to apply this foundation, in your experience?

I did buy the Master Corrector no. 1 - Pink.
Everybody raves about this on youtube and it seems to be the holy grail for dark circles!
oh my... look at the picture - it does improve the situation A LOT!!! You're supposed to use it underneath concealer - like an 'helper'!
It's expensive - 25quid - but it's worth it and I would recommend it to anybody, bothered by dark circles. Again, I had some capital bonds left so I paid nothing for it! :)

only on the left side (which is my right eye) - hope you can see the difference.

Finally, I bought this belt in Oasis - I don't have any high waist, elastic belt and I reckon I can wear this with pretty much everything. I like the clasp which is a pewter colour.
