I've battling with a eczema/rash patch around my lips for over 10 years now. It just flares up randomly - well, I say randomly because even after many dermatologist appointments and allergy tests, I still don't know why I get it. Personally, I think it's stress related - actually I'm pretty positive about that - and central heating also seems to worsen the condition.
Recently, I've been straggling with a bad work situation and sure enough I'm having a flare up with is starting to become a pain to keep under control.
I also tried different treatments and potions but the only thing which makes a difference is an hydrocortisone cream; I really don't feel at ease to use an hydrocortisone cream all the time, especially around my mouth so I was thrilled when I received a bottle of Heal Gel Intensive* to try out.
I'm sure you all already know this must-have item - it used to come in a green jar and it has recently been repackaged and the line extended with a face and eye cream, too.
I think the new tube is much better - for hygienic reasons - and the pump works really well to dispense even the smallest amount, so you don't waste any product.
I apologize in advance if the picture below gross you out... I put a small picture on purpose... but I thought some visual would be useful (believe wasn't an easy decision!).
I've been using HealGel for about 10 days now and the results are actually impressive.
You can't imagine the joy!!!!!!
The dryness has improved dramatically and then skin is softer; also, it helps to keep the itchiness at bay and consequently the skin is less 'raw' and red.
Aesthetically, It also makes my foundation stay fresh for longer on this dry, ugly patch.
Don't get me wrong - I don't think this is a cure and I wasn't looking for a miracle but just a little help and HealGel has provided a GREAT help!
I still need to use the hydrocortisone cream, occasionally but at least I can use HealGel on a daily basis and even reapply 2/3 times on bad days.
But apart from my specific case, HealGel is an all-round little helper that helps regenerate and sooth troubled or dry skin, like cuticles and chapped lips.
Have you tried HealGel before?
