Shopping My Stash / #5

Still pretty keen with mineral foundation lately - I find that the Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF30 + Laura Mercier Mineral Powder SPF15 in real sand are the perfect combo!
For the base, I also used Stila One Step Correct Colour Corrector to even out skintone and Topshop Blush in butterscotch as an highlighter. I hit pan!!! I don't think it has ever happened before - I do love this item and I will have to limit the usage now, since I think it's discontinued. :(
Finally added a touch of Neal's Yard Remedies Mineral Blusher in 54 peony which is an iced pink and cool toned.

For the eyes I went with this FOTD look, using Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Stick in 003 Bad Girl Bronze on the upper lid and Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in 014 Bright Blue on the bottom; I like the motorized brush of the Bourjois Volume Fast & Perfect mascara but I think it's a bit drying and hard to remove.
The lip were effortlessly simple with 100% Pure Lip Glaze in peach bellini.

What have you been wearing lately? :)

Topshop Mighty Boots

Topshop Mighty Boots
ops, I did it again! I said I wouldn't buy any more shoes and went out and bought another pair... well, boots technically.
I have been toying with getting this boots for few months - originally the black version - but never took the plunge.
Then I spotted the burgundy ones reduced to £25 and I decided I NEEDED them! ;)
Actually, I kinda of needed them since I have been looking for some footwear of this burgundy/oxblood colour for a while, since I got my Paul Smith bag - which I adore!!!
Truly love this bag, it's perfection - got it in the sale few years back... oh well, you can see the original blogpost here for more details.

Don't forget to enter my giveaway here! :)

Inside the Jewellery Box...

I started this series few months ago and I got to say I received some really positive and nice feedback from you, guys... Thank you so much for your lovely comments!
Today I'm gonna share some custom rings that I own:
I prefer thin rings and my favourite are stackable ones; I don't mind a big statement cocktail ring but it has to have a thin back, otherwise I find it uncomfortable to wear and make my fingers swell.
I like to wear these 2 rings together - the hammered on the left is from Accessorize and the second from Orelia @ Topshop. I like the dark stones and I think they look good together.
This set is from Topshop, few years ago - I usually wear them all together, spread on middle and index finger. My favourite are the rose and white band with the hearts.
The 3 rings on the right were an absolute steal. I got them on ebay 4 years ago and paid £2 for them. The metal is still vibrant as the day I got them... shame the ebay shop is now closed, I would have picked more.
The purple bow ring is from Asos, it was also £2 on sale - It's cute!
This ring is from Dannijo - I like the oxidized metal, the chain and the military-esque stars.
Probably the biggest ring I have - my husband always says that it doubles as a weapon... hehe fair enough! ;)
Left ring: I really like purple&turquoise combo. I actually found it on the floor in a club I used to work when I lived in Cardiff... It's from Swarovski and it fits so I decided to keep it. I really like it, actually.
I like the idea of the laser cut diamond shape but this ring is just soooo impractical to wear.
Cocktail rings:
l-r: Topshop, Topshop, New Look, Miss Selfridge, Warehouse
This is one of my favourite - I like blush, as a colour, a lot!
I wear it with this bangle set with the matching blush bracelet and distressed metal.
 Another cheap set from Asos.
Rose gold is my favourite metal, currently and I thought the thin, empty hearts of the earrings were quite cool.
Finally, the oldest and most precious of the set: this is a Russian gold ring and my mum bought it for me, about 15 years ago. Love the vintage, classic style.
So, what do you think?
I'd like to see some of your pieces too - link me back to your blogs :)

Bronzed Look Attempt

I took inspiration from this Pixiwoo video - I love the result on Sam and loved that Daniel Sandler Watercolour Creme Bronzer in Fiji; luckily LookFanstatic.com had it on sale so I bought one, few weeks ago.

It looks different from your usual bronzer - I don't use bronzers regularly, really... as silly as it might sound, I just don't like how brown they look. That's why I wanted this one: it's, definitely, more reddish, brickish with kinda of a pinkish glow (Hehe, too many -ish there, sorry... but it's difficult to describe the colour, it's pretty unique).

Also, I like that it's a cream bronzer and super blendable - actually, I was a bit scared when I first opened it but it's very easily to build and doesn't go on the skin half as dark as you would expect.

So, here is my attempt... as I said this is my take on the look but I tried to use as many similar products from the video... you'll see many BECCA's which I think it's perfect for 'the summer face'.

still too pale?!

Face: Becca Luminous Skin Colour in Cashmere, Ysl Touche Eclat in 01, Benefit Erase Paste in medium, Daniel Sandler Cream Bronzer in Fiji, Topshop Blush in Butterscotch, Lancome Freckles Crayon (I had this pencil for a few good years; I've always been obsessed with freckles and wanted them... now, I'm finally using it! ;P), Becca Fine Pressed Powder in Sesame;
Eyes: Becca Line + Illuminate Pencil in Fiji, Ellis Faas mascara;
Lips: Becca Beach Tint in Guava.

Topshop Haul

Knitted Lurex Sweater
I couldn't leave this beauty in the shop!
It's a fine knit, pretty thin - I can't stand anything too thick on my skin - and feels very soft on the skin.
It is super-delicate so it's gonna be a bit of pain to wash but it's so flattering on and I love the colour (honestly, the picture can't do it justice).
I, usually, wear a UK10/12 but had to buy a UK8 because it's pretty baggy... Score!!! ;P

details of the colours

Lace Trim Ankle Socks
I picked up these in the 3 for £8 offer... black, mint & lilac... super cute!
I needed pastel socks anyway... and you can't go wrong with a black pair too.

Have you been shopping in Topshop, recently?
What did you buy? :)

I got Curve ID-ed

I've been wanting to try the Levis Curve ID for some time now... so I popped into a store last week to get measured.
Basically - you can read better and in more details on the website - they're measuring your proportions more than your size and based on that there're 3 main categories... for me, the verdict is Demi Curve.
I tried a couple for different style - they do skinny, straight, bootcut... - and the size was spot on and I bought a pair of straight leg ones.
What I like in a jeans? low waist, bum shape and dark colour.
I love them!!! They feel and fit so good... and they're, also, doing the sale so I got mine for £59 down from £85 and I'm ok with that price for a pair of jeans.
Honestly, where can you get a pair of good jeans for lower? I'm used to buy Diesel, anyway.
I had a couple of pairs from Topshop but they all end up in pieces; I don't know what I did with them but they didn't last me more than a year... and I have some Diesel's ones for 8 years AND they look good! Sorry but I do think you can see the difference.

Sorry for the crappy photo but I'll make sure to post some pictures of me wearing them soon :)

To compensate, I bought a couple of cheap tops ;)
Actually, I saw Essie-Button! wearing these in some youtube videos and I thought they were sooo pretty!
I don't, normally, shop in H&M anymore... simply because their stores, in Glasgow, are always chaos! I can never find what I'm looking for; also, the website is a bit crap (and I do a lot of 'window shopping' online) so I end up never finding what I want in store..
But I don't have an aversion for H&M, I want to be clear, in fact I used to shop there when I was living in Cardiff and I go with my sister in Italy...

Anyway, here is what I got - one was 14something and the other 19something... I like proper-lady blouses with a bit of a edge ;)

I like the pansies print and fake leather collar on this one...

... and I like the pastel mint colour  and pearls details on this one...

Have you tried Levi's Curve ID? Do you like them?

Nails of the Week - Pastel Rainbow

I'm sooo surprised how much I'm liking this look!
I've seen it on many blogs, recently - and I, actually, tried it only because I was a bit bored and I couldn't decide on which colour to use... but I'm pretty pleased with the result.
The boy offered to take a couple of shots with the fisheye - I like how the colours pop. :)

I used:
Rimmel Apricot Punch
Topshop Celestial
Rimmel Peppermint
Zoya Kendal
OPI Sparrow Me the Drama

What do you think? Yay or Nay?

p.s.: I got an exciting post coming up tomorrow... stay tuned!! ;)

Nails of the Week

This is my attempt to Zooey Deschanel-inspired french manicure.
Man, I know why I'm no good at nail art... I dont have the patience!
I used tips guides so pretty straight forward and simple... but I'm so going to pay an expert next time I decide to go with this look. ;P
The tip should be more of a minty colour and the base more nude but I don't have these shades in my collection and I decided to use Topshop' Celestial - such a pretty colour!!
The Denny Leighton is Honey Trap from Harrods GlossyBox.

What do you think? I'm quite liking it now thats finished.
xx
