Clinique Chubby Stick in 13 Mighty Mimosa

On Sunday's Post, I mentioned that I was looking to buy another lip crayon...

I came to the conclusion that - even if the Revlons are cheaper - I prefer the Cliniques as I find them more moisturizing and comfortable to wear.

I went for Mighty Mimosa because it's such a pretty colour, as simple as that.

 Also, it's very flattering on my skintone so I will get the most use out of it.

I know there are some Chubby Sticks Intense coming out soon but I prefer this type of product to be sheer, to be honest.

What I am looking forward to, Clinique-wise, are the Chubby Sticks for eyes... when are they coming out??? I saw some spoilers months ago but not release date as yet. :(

Now, it's just plain rude to place an order for only 1 item, right? ;)

Well, I decided to pick up another favourite lip product of mine (also, had to reach 40quid to take advantage of the promotion).

This is, actually, my 3rd Ysl glossy stain... ops... You can check the others here.

 These are expensive beauties but the quality is amazing, in my opinion.

Also, the colours are vibrant and interesting... especially now that I'm trying not to buy dupes in my lipstick collection.

Corail Fauve is a coral pink, very wearable; again, I like the consistency, very light formula and performs amazingly. The applicator works well too and you get just the right amount of product out.

FOTN - Cinema

It's getting dark earlier and earlier so I had to improvise to manage to get a photo - change of location! ;)

Anyway, last week I won some tickets for the premiere of Moonrise Kingdom through Emerald Street. 

I was well chuffed as I wanted to see the film anyway.

I loved it! It's so quirky, cute and funny - highly recommended!

We were also treated to cocktails and treats before the screening so I decided a lip stain was in order: I love the colour of this lip stain but, because of the consistency, is quite hard to get an uniform coat and goes on a bit patchy; I had to do 4 swipes and keep my mouth open until it dried completely... also, need to resist to rub the lips together.

Review / La Prairie Skin Caviar Liquid Lift

Today I'm talking about the most luxurious product that I have ever put on my face.

I feel I need to start with the price 'cause yeah, it's the elephant in the room, I suppose... a full size 50ml bottle is £304... there, done and dusted, now we can move on... ;P

I've always wanted to try La Prairie. I remember being a skint university student, browsing in Sephora between lectures and thinking "one day, one day I'll buy La Prairie... when I'll have a steady wage"

Well, I do have a wage now but that day still has to come!

The company is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the launch of their caviar skincare line and they have introduced a new product to the range: La Prairie Skin Caviar Liquid Lift*

The famous gold caviar pearls - rich in lifting action - have now been combined with a unique Recovery Complex that alters the skin's basic structure for long term firmness. New pentapeptides help maintain epidermal equilibrium and protect the cells from stress damage.

On top of that, the caviar extract concentration is the highest of the whole line; the caviar's derived from aqua-farmed Baerii Sturgeon and the shell of the beads is made of red algae... now, we're starting to understand the price...

You need to activate the 2 principles - combining the emulsion and the pearls - simply pressing the button on the neck of the tube; you only need to do this the first time and after that the serum is ready to use.

It smells like I would expect Kate Middleton to smell like: gloriously sophisticated.

You would use the serum twice a day before your normal moisturizer.

Parsimonious is the key word here: you need 1 drop per application - you definitely don't want to waste it!

I don't have particular issues with sagging just yet (Thank God) but my jawline is definitely in better shape and the results are instant; It also has blurring effects thanks to tiny flecks of gold in it and mattifies like nothing else... It's incredible! I'm getting scarily addicted to this product!

Definitely worth considering as a Christmas/Birthday/Hanukkah combined present to add to the list! :)

Empties / September

ohhhh, I can't believe I manage to produce another empties post so quickly.
 To be fair, I have a box full of half empty tubes that I'm trying to finish off, so I should have some offering every month for a while.

L'Oreal Sculpt Up: I forgot how much I like this body cream. I use it in the mornings as it has an immediate tightening effect and absorb quickly so I can get dressed straight after. 

I love the smell: it's kinda of talc/powdery and brings me back to years ago when I was living in Cardiff and I used to buy it all the time. :)

Repurchase: most definitely - and Boots runs regular promotions including this range that also help!

Calvin Klein Euphoria Blossom Body Lotion: My mum gave this to me. Strangely enough, I'm not a big fan of the parfume but I love how the lotion smells. It's very light and leave a velvety feeling on the skin.

I would, usually, only wear it sporadically but I have had this bottle for a while now and it was time to come to an end.

Repurchase: maybe - but I have a full list of other stuff I wanna try first!

E45 Cream: nothing particularly exciting about this cream... au contraire.

But this is one of the best creams I have ever used for my feet, knees and shins. It's deeply moisturizing but don't leave any residue. Also, this tub is huge and last for ever and costs nothing!

Of course, I do like to indulge in posh feet creams from time to time but I go back to this one on a daily basis.

Repurchase: sure thing!

Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet-Creme: I got this sample in a beauy swap months ago but I put it aside to use during the summer. 

It's kinda of whipped consistency, ergo the sorbet name and melts into the skin; the scent is unusual but I got used to it and grown to like it. Great product!

Repurchase: Absolutely yes! I adore this moisturizing now and I can't wait to get through the my stash so I can buy it!

Estee Lauder Hydra Complete Multi-Level Moisture Gel Mask: I've had that for absolute ages, actually... so quite glad to see it go.

It's a gel moisturizing mask, fresh on the skin - I need to use it about once every 2 weeks and it's very similar to L'Occitane Angelica Instant Hydration mask, that I reviewed here.
To be fair, I don't feel like I can recommend it and I have only been using it 'cause I didn't want to waste it.

Repurchase: Definitely not - also, I prefer L'occitane one between the two. 

Biore' Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips: yep, another mundane item.

Nose strips... we all know what they are, they are gross but got to do it!

I use one about every 10 days, I find them effective - unfortunately, kind of pricey.

Repurchase: yes

(By the way, so sorry for the grubby old bottles but I can't bring myself to wash them, just for the sake of the picture! sorrry)

Sprout Cleanser*

This cleanser is as simple as it gets: organic rosewater, organic vegetable glycerin, organic tea tree oil.

Did you notice the organic list? Yep and because it's also soap-free and alcohol-free, it's not drying... and no parabens, of course!

I've been using it in the morning - I spritz it on a cotton wool pad and wipe all over my face to get rid of the possible make up residue of the night before.

It's ideal for both sensitive skin and problematic, where the tea tree oil comes in handy.

Sprout Toner*

I think the toner could be the most controversial of the lot; it contains raw apple cider vinegar - giving it a strong vinegar smell - which may not be for everybody.

Myself - well I love vinegar and I could easily drink it so the smell doesn't bother me.

I have also learned that you're supposed to pat your face dry, after using a toner, otherwise the atmosphere will pull moisture away from your skin, leaving it dehydrated. Did you know that?

Sprout Exfoliant*

This is the face exfoliant of the line and contains a mix of almonds, oats and sea salt. They are finely milled and comes in a velvety powder.

You need to add few drops of water in the palm of your hands and then work it into the face; it leaves the skin soft and glowing... just be careful to keep the product dry inside the jar.

Sprout Lip Balm*

This wee tube is my favourite, definitely! I love smothering my lips with this indulgent stick. It's very soft and not sticky and leaves my lips super soft and smelling (and tasting) like cocoa.

There are also cinnamon, citrus, peppermint and vegan versions available... I want them all!!!

You can argue that the ingredient list is so minimal that you could try and make these yourself but when I think about beauty, I think about treating myself, pampering myself and I find comfort in knowing that somebody else has gone through the trouble of resourcing the best raw materials and all I need to do is buy and enjoy them!
