Nails 2014 / Q1

I’ve been playing with glitters a lot, lately.
I’m not a massive fan of glitter polishes, mainly because they are such a pain to remove; but I have a few in my collection so I took them out for a spin, these past few months.

I really like the 'tips dip' look. I feel it looks even better when it’s a couple of days old, uneven and a bit rough around the edges.

Zoya in Rina / Leighton Denny in Honey Trap

I took inspiration for this blue tutorial from Nouvelle Daily… Btw, I need to get my hands on Essie Aruba Blue… *gorgeous!*

Revlon Colorstay in Indigo Night / Essie in On A Silver Platter

Barry M in 354 Amethyst Glitter is so versatile and you can pair it with purples, pinks, blues... a really steal for a few pennies.

Finally, big shout out to Simply Sarah - a classy lady with great taste and I was lucky enough to win her first Giveaway - Yay Me!!! ;)
... and remember to enter my current Giveaway here too!

Nails 2013 / Q2

Essie Nail Lacquer in 47 Sexy Divide
Few weeks ago, I decided I wanted another Essie but I was overwhelmed by the choice in Boots.
I didn't want to get a dupe so after going through my collection, I realised I needed a purple.
AND-WHAT-A-PURPLE! What a stunning shade - very pleased with it!

teamed with OPI What Wizardry Is This?

Been wanting to try the caviar look for ages - I used a MUA as a cheaper alternative to the OPI.
Personally, I think it's just too high maintenance: the beads started to fall off within hours so I added a clear top coat and then it looked like all the beads melted together. Not happy! :(

Base: SAlly Hansen HD Hi-Definition Nail Colour in 14 Spectrum

Still loving the L'Oreal Colour Rich Top Coat Confetti... the fastest way to an effortless nail look!
Favourite combo? But with corals, of course.

GlossyBox - Harrods Edition

Bliss Blood Orange + White Pepper Body Butter: first things first - love that it is paraben free.
This is a beautiful body butter - the consistency means you need to work it in the skin a wee bit but once absorbed, it disappears.
It's, also, very refreshing and smells divine.
A definite pampering body product - shame it hasn't added benefits as anti-cellulite or firming.

ReVive Intensite' Creme Lustre SPF30: unfortunately, this is too thick for me; so thick that I found it even hard to get it out of the jar. I tried few times, at night, and it just doesn't suit my skin type but I read nice reviews from other users.
I will pass it over to my mum, I think, as she has dry skin.

Versace Vanitas Eau de Parfum: I'm not a fan of perfume samples as they are so personal - and I'm so fussy - that I rarely liked the ones that I was sent before.
Exception to the rule, I suppose, as Im really liking this scent; also, it's a deluxe sample - the bottle is quite big and very pretty - love the engravings on the cap.

Clarins Entra-Firming Body Cream: this cream is just right up my alley - exactly what I look for in a body cream. The tube is too small to really see any improvement in the toning department but I have faith in Clarins and I might give a full size bottle a go.

Leighton Denny nail polish in Honey Trap: I was sent another Leighton Denny varnish before but I didn't like it very much as it took ages to dry.
This looks better: love the colour, it has a very glossy finish and it's not streaky at all... liking the mini bottle, too.

Everything's available to purchase from Harrods
Which box did you receive? Happy with the content?

Nails of the Week

This is my attempt to Zooey Deschanel-inspired french manicure.
Man, I know why I'm no good at nail art... I dont have the patience!
I used tips guides so pretty straight forward and simple... but I'm so going to pay an expert next time I decide to go with this look. ;P
The tip should be more of a minty colour and the base more nude but I don't have these shades in my collection and I decided to use Topshop' Celestial - such a pretty colour!!
The Denny Leighton is Honey Trap from Harrods GlossyBox.

What do you think? I'm quite liking it now thats finished.

GlossyBox - October 2011

Hello girls!
I'm really late reviewing this box - going away I didn't have the chance to write this before but I managed to try the products; I''l try and be concise. :P

All considering, I think this was quite a good box - value wise.
This was also the 6th box and to celebrate the 6 months, we also received an extra item plus beauty bag.

Dermalogica Age Smart trio: I wasn't happy to receive 3 items from the same brand, even if Dermalogica! The first is MultiVitamin Power Recover Masque with antioxidant vitamins which help skin recover and regenerate. It left my skin so smooth and I loved it!
The second is MultiVitamin Thermafoliant which is basically a face scrub that warms up when in contact with wet face and draws out impurities. Sorry for the lack of swatch for this item but I have decided to keep it sealed as I would rather swap it for something else.
I'm already using The Sanctuary Warming Microbrasion Polish which works on the same principles and I'm happy with it.
Finally, the 6th bonus item - Renewal Lip Complex which is quite a lovely lip balm; I've used it twice a day as suggested but honestly, I didn't experience any miracle. Plus, it smells nice but I can't stand strong smells (especially in lips products) so It happens to be a disadvantaged in my case.
I would say my L'Occitane Shea Butter Lip Balm is just as good (without the price tag).

The bonus lip balm came into this small beauty bag:

Leighton Denny Expert Nails Colour & Care in Hanky-Panky: I don't have any orange nail polish so I was happy to receive this one but I'm starting to have too many now!!! It's getting worst than with perfume samples.
I liked the bottle and the brush; nice colour and good coverage but I felt it took too long to dry (hence the wee smudge!)

I teamed it with YSL La Laque no 127 here - I like the orange and navy together :)

Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in Moray: I've never tried anything from Stila ever (I know, shame on me!!) and I was looking forward to find something in a beauty box soon. Unfortunately, I just bought an eyeliner in a similar colour from Becca a few weeks ago so this is also going in the swap box. :( I did tried it though and I can confirm the staying power is impressive.

Btw, I WILL post a look I made with the Becca Line + Illuminate Pencil tomorrow so if you like it and you also received the Stila pencil, you can recreate it. :)

Robert Piguet Eau de Parfums: finally, the usual perfume samples but 3 of them!!! In order, I liked the most: Fracas, Visa and Calypso not so much.
